HI! I am Robin Jourdan
I started this blog as a reaction; a response to how difficult it can be for artists to put themselves and their work into the world. I realized there might be a gap, so I would take some steps to fill it and support some genuinely amazing artists. I also really enjoy talking with creative people about their work. How the "art - sausage" is made is fascinating to many of us. I hope this serves as a peek behind the curtain. We are all creative. Seed of an Idea
As for my current work and my background:
Ideas and stories inspire my 2D and 3D handmade paper works, further developed with a connection to nature. Sometimes I draw or assemble forms to see what I'm thinking. I may collect materials to reinforce the idea or concept.
Growing up in southeast Michigan, an environment threaded with the gritty, oil-slicked culture of heavy industry, automobiles, and a dynamic social structure. This tough-as-nails culture continues to shape my perspective and worldview today. As a child of the 1960s-70s, my world is a continuous journey of questions, curiosity, and an unwavering fondness for the natural environment.
The views belong to the artists. I hope you enjoy what they have to say.
